LOS ANGELES, Calif. — A man accused of attacking three women–one of whom was left unconscious at a South Los Angeles bus stop after being sexually assaulted–pleaded not guilty today to nine felony charges.
Allen Phillip Crews, 22, is facing a hearing Jan. 31 to determine if there is enough evidence to require him to stand trial in connection with the three attacks in mid-June.
Crews is charged with three counts of assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury, two counts of assault with intent to commit a felony and one count each of attempted murder, forcible rape, sexual penetration by a foreign object and second-degree robbery.
One of the attacks involved a 50-year-old woman at a bus stop at Manchester and Normandie avenues in South Los Angeles early June 18.
A Los Angeles police officer spotted the injured, unconscious woman on a bus bench about 12:55 a.m. and saw her alleged assailant fleeing. A perimeter was quickly set up in the area, and a police dog located Crews about an hour later, according to police.
He is jailed in lieu of $1.5 million bail.
