Apl.De.Ap of Black Eyed Peas at mall in Carson

Filipino American Apl.de.ap of the Grammy Award-winning Black Eyed Peas will be a guest judge for the Filipino Americans Got Talent Event at the SouthBay Pavilion on Saturday, Oct. 27, at 1 p.m., at 20700 Avalon Blvd., in Carson. Apl.De.Ap has helped to build schools in the Philippines through his Apl Foundation and with disaster relief.

Born Allan Pineda Lindo, Apl.De.Ap was recently appointed Ambassador for Peace by Philippine President Noynoy Aquino. He has consistently been involved in educating Filipino children by providing children with school supplies and the construction of school buildings in impoverished areas.

Aple.de.ap is also involved in nurturing local artists and DJs in Los Angeles through his own music company Jeepney Music. He also worked with the Philippine Department of Tourism to promote the beautiful spots in the country through the song, “Take Me to the Philippines.” He has proudly upheld his culture as a Filipino in his collaboration with the Black Eyed Peas.

Apl.de.ap will judge the final competition of the Filipino Americans Got Talent at the SouthBay Pavilion. Another judge in the finals will be Jason Farol, third place winner of the duet competition. The Filipino American History Month is organized by the Filipino American Chamber of Commerce South Bay Los Angeles, the city of Carson and SouthBay Pavilion. The event is free and open to the public.
