LOS ANGELES, Calif.–The Board of Supervisors today renewed a $10,000 reward for information leading to the conviction of whoever fatally shot a lawyer in the driveway of his Rolling Hills Estates home in 2009.

“(Jeffrey) Tidus was active in various charities and was a valued member of the community,” said Supervisor Don Knabe, who recommended that the reward–set to expire Sept. 8–be extended for at least another 90 days.

Tidus, 53, was shot once in the head on Dec. 7, 2009, in the 4600 block of Sugarhill Drive. He had gone outside to retrieve a laptop computer from his car, his wife told investigators, who said Tidus appeared to have been targeted.

Tidus was an attorney with the downtown firm Baute & Tidus, which specialized in civil litigation and had won some multimillion-dollar settlements.

Family, friends and clients separately raised $90,000 in reward money.

Anyone with information was asked to call Los Angeles County sheriff’s Detectives Joe Espino or Bob Kenney at (323) 890-5500.
