Veteran singer/songwriter Brenda Lee Eager, who has performed and recorded background music for such Grammy Award-winning artists as Ray Charles, Roberta Flack and Teena Marie, as well as written songs for Bobby Womack, Gladys Knight, Prince and Jerry Butler, celebrates her birthday with a concert “Live at 65” Aug. 12 at the Normandie Casino, 1045 W. Rosecrans Ave. in Gardena.
A red carpet reception begins at 6:30 p.m., followed by the concert at 7:30 p.m. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Kierrah Foundation, which provides material, intellectual and emotional support, as well as wrap-around services to young women who have aged out of foster care.
