Beverly Hills police Thursday released the names of a married couple found shot to death in their room at the Beverly Hilton, and said the man and woman each committed suicide.
The bodies of Robert Egan, 69, and Barbra Egan, 56, were found about 10:50 p.m. Saturday at the hotel at 9876 Wilshire Blvd., Beverly Hills police Lt. Mark Rosen said.
The couple had been living in the hotel for at least six months, Rosen said.
Authorities preliminarily had classified the case as “an apparent murder-suicide,” but later determined that each person had committed suicide with a firearm, Rosen said.
“The L.A. County coroner’s office has completed its portion of the investigation and has determined that the incident was a `double suicide’” Rosen said.
