A 28-year-old father was killed protectinghis 8-year-old son from shots reportedly from two men who opened fire outsidetheir home.
The shooting occurred Tuesday, April3, in 3200 block of West 109th Street.
Fred Martin Jr. was cleaning outhis garage in Inglewoodwhen two unknown men rushed in and began shooting, friends said.
Martin was hit in the chest andstomach as he pushed his son to the ground and covering him to protect him fromthe gunfire.
The assailants ran off and noarrests have been made, police said.
Martin was rushed to hospital butdied during surgery. His son, Tre, was grazed by a bullet but was not seriouslyhurt.
