Brian Ramirez, winner of a college scholarship from the Posse Foundation worth more than $100,000, was among the more than 600 high school students and their parents who attended the standing-room-only 2012 Young Black Scholars Family Conferences last Saturday at Cal State Long Beach. Sponsored by the 100 Black Men of Los Angeles, the program was designed to help prepare the youngsters and their parents for the college admission process.
