Exhibits chronicle impact of city galleries

“Civic Virtue, the Impact of the Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery and the Watts Towers Art Center,” is a dual show of works in conjunction with the regionwide “Pacific Standard Time” which opens today from 6-9 p.m. at the Municipal Art Gallery and Saturday from 1-4:30 p.m. at Watts Towers.

The exhibit will be on view through Feb. 12, 2012 at the Municipal Art Gallery, 4800 Hollywood Blvd., L.A.

The gallery will also hold free discussions and workshops on action, irony, and working together during the run of the show.

The exhibit at the Watts Tower Arts Center, 1727 E. 107th St., L.A., also closes Feb. 12.

Both shows look back at the impact previously mounted exhibits at each venue have had on the Los Angeles arts scene.
