INGLEWOOD, Calif.–A half-dozen people were in custody today as investigators tried to determine who wounded two young men in a gang-related shooting in Inglewood, police said.

The shooting occurred around 9:10 p.m. Monday near the intersection of 84th Street and 2nd Avenue, Inglewood police Sgt. Greg Held said.

“Both men were transported to a hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries,” Held said early this morning. “I can’t give you anymore information about the victims because both men are refusing to cooperate. So far they’ve even refused to give us their names and ages.”

Officers detained six men at the scene in connection with the shootings, but Held said the investigation was still under way.

“We have six people in custody and we’re trying to sort out what if any their roles were in this attack,” Held said. “But it’s clearly gang-related.”

Anyone with information on the shooting was urged to call Inglewood police at (310) 412-5206.
