LOS ANGELES, Calif.–The grand opening of PINK, the first ever pop up store in Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza history, in celebration of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
Store event schedule includes Makeover Mondays; mini Race for the Cure events on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for shoppers who walk the mall for exercise; Lunch & Learn events on Thursdays to learn more about free services Komen offers in the community; Klub Komen events on Fridays with healthy nonalcoholic cocktails, dj and gift bags; Sparkle, Shimmer & Shine Saturdays, where uninsured women receive free mammograms and mini spa services and Worship in Pink Sundays with information on how local churches can spread messages of hope to their congregation during breast cancer awareness month and year round.
Store guests will be encouraged to join the Circle of Promise, an initiative designed to raise awareness and reduce cases of late stage breast cancer in the African American community. To join the Circle of Promise, text the word “PROMISE” on cell phone to “50555.” Supporters may donate $10 donation when signing up, but it is not mandatory. PINK ceremonial ribbon cutting will be Saturday, Oct. 15, at noon with Komen Circle of Promise Ambassadors Grammy nominated recording artist Kelly Price, actress Vanessa Bell Calloway and Assemblywoman Holly Mitchell will meet and greet guests and take photos on pink carpet.
