Noted artists, community activists, family and friends gathered last Sunday for the annual party to celebrate the birth of living arts legend Cecil Fergerson. This year the art expert marks his 80th birthday, and while many his age are content to enjoy their golden years, Fergerson continues to advocate for Black art in Los Angeles. His current project is to showcase a Watts arts renaissance.
