The California Strawberry Festival 2011 featured the lush berries served every imaginable way from the classics like chocolate dipped strawberries to interesting spins like strawberry pizza, nachos, deep-fried, shortcake, and for the grown ups, strawberry beer, margaritas, and wine. Thousands of people lined up to try them all.
Aside from hundreds of food vendors, there was also a Strawberry Promenade sponsored by Wells Fargo, which was jam-packed with interactive, imaginative and informative activities, exhibits and presentations.
The children definitely seemed to enjoy themselves in Strawberryland which was complete with a trampoline bouncer, climbing wall, clowns, temporary wax hair coloring, face painting and balloon making.
No event is compete without good entertainment which is why the festival featured two stages with concert performances throughout the weekend offering a menu of musical tastes, concerts ranging from Reggae to Latin Pop and Big Band Swing.
The festival happens each year in May in Oxnard.
