LOS ANGELES, Calif.–Authorities were able to nab a notorious graffiti vandal at Los Angeles International Airport as he prepared to board a plane to Ireland, a sheriff’s captain stated.

Jason “Revok” Williams, a member of the “Mad Society Kings” graffiti crew, was arrested at LAX Thursday. Williams had a warrant for his arrest for failure to pay restitution to the victims of previous vandalism crimes, said sheriff’s Capt. Mike Parker.

“We take graffiti vandalism very seriously,” said Lt. Vince Carter, of the sheriff’s Metro Transit Services Bureau. “Criminal graffiti vandals who insist on damaging other people’s property are going to jail and need to pay to fix the damage they cause.”

Williams, 34, was being held in the Los Angeles County Jail with bail set at $320,000.

Deputies from the sheriff’s Special Problems Unit arrested Williams in 2010 near a graffiti art store where images of his graffiti vandalism were featured. He was arrested with several hundred cans of spray paint and a replica Los Angeles Police Department badge.

The Fairfax District resident had earlier been placed on probation for felony vandalism in Indio in 2009.
