LOS ANGELES, Calif.–County supervisors today offered a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the assailant who gunned down a car customizer in Torrance two days before Christmas, and renewed a $10,000 reward in a hit-and-run crash that killed a Glendale man.
Torrance police detectives believe Joseph Gosinski, 44, was targeted on Dec. 23 as he was closing his business, Chicane Sport Tuning at Del Amo Boulevard and Gramercy Place, for the night.
Gosinski’s girlfriend became concerned when he failed to come home, and authorities found him in his shop, where he customized sports cars. He was pronounced dead at the scene in the early morning hours of Christmas Eve.
Supervisor Don Knabe recommended the reward to help coax anyone who was in the area of the business between 6 and 8 p.m. on Dec. 23 or who might have knowledge of prior threats against Gosinski to come forward. Investigators have aid they do not believe the shooting was related to a robbery.

Supervisor Michael Antonovich recommended that a separate $10,000 reward be extended to help investigators find the driver who struck Joo Lee in the 3000 block of Montrose Avenue in Glendale about 7:15 p.m. on New Year’s Day 2010 and then drove off.
The 49-year-old pedestrian had been crossing Montrose when he was hit by a vehicle, possibly an SUV, and thrown about 70 feet. Lee died at Huntington Memorial Hospital the next morning.
The reward was set to expire on April 7, but will now be available until at least July 6. Anyone with information was asked to call Glendale police at (818) 548-3132 or (818) 548-4840.
