LOS ANGELES – The California Highway Patrol reported no traffic fatalities in Los Angeles County during the Labor Day weekend, compared with three for the same weekend last year.

Statewide, the CHP reported a total of 21 traffic-related deaths between 6 p.m. Friday and 11:59 p.m. Monday. Last year, during the same reporting period, the CHP reported a dozen traffic deaths statewide.

The CHP holiday statistics include deaths on any road in the state, but only those drunken driving arrests made by CHP officers on freeways or in unincorporated areas.
