It is now an unavoidable topic–Montana Fishburne sex tapes, porn career, and Playboy poses.
The girl has gone wild; others may disagree however, saying that she’s making a name for herself. Perhaps, but that name sure ain’t good. The problem is obvious, Laurence Fishburne will forever live with this sort of shame that his little girl grew up to be the sex queen of the industry.
She said in an interview with Giuliana Rancic of E! Online, the media attention, sex taping, and porn stuff that has occurred lately is the normal flow of things. She also told Rancic that she discovered her fascination with sex ,when she lost her virginity at the age of 16.
The point of the matter here is that porn has become a career option for some teens. Montana is just one of those famous kids who has brought attention to it.
Think about it: “Girls Gone Wild,” although it is predominantly cast with 18-year-old White females, is one of the first avenues teens take to break into the porn industry.
With Montana being an 18-year-old (now 19 since her most recent media exposure) Black girl, and daughter of Morpheus, her decision to jump into the porn scene has put a different spin on things. Young porn stars aren’t just underprivileged kids who didn’t get love at home. Montana even shared that her parents are quite loving, and this isn’t something she’s doing to rebel. It was a career move.
Tristan Taomino, a Vivid Entertainment producer and a self-proclaimed anal sexpert, thinks Montana’s career decision is a good thing for porn. “I think (women of color)’s White counterparts get more attention, and I think that needs to change. If Montana wants to take up that torch more power to her, … certainly the porn industry could only benefit with more women of color hands down,” she told 105.9 Kiss FM in Detroit.
Depending on how you look at this situation, Montana’s involvement has the potential to encourage more Black teens to seek their fate in porn. It was estimated by New York Times in 2001 that the industry banks approximately $10 billion a year (estimates were based on Forrester Research). Another publisher says that worldwide, the porn industry rakes in more than $97 billion. So there is a lot of money to be had out there in the sex world. But it’s been rumored that it isn’t easy getting a hold of it.
On the other hand, the worse of the two evils, I guess, is that there is high risk of disease. A study from ConvenantEyes, found that 66 percent of sex actors have Herpes, 12-28 percent have some sort of sexually transmitted disease, and 7 percent have HIV. Also, many of them use drugs including Ecstasy, cocaine, marijuana, Xanax, Valium, Vicodin, and alcohol.
Keep in mind; all of the numbers are difficult to follow because not everything is reported since the industry has its share of secrets.
To put this all into perspective, according to the same study, most adult film stars range from 18 to 27 years-old, with most of them being 21, 23, and 24. After bypassing that age, it is unlikely a porn star has an opportunity to work in any other industry, because their image has already been established and does matter outside its parameters, although there is a small niche for senior porn.
Is it a great career move? With all the risk and little promise involved, I’d say no. Others like Montana beg to differ.
