Celebrate as if it’s Fat Tuesday at the fifth annual New Orleans Cultural Festival Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Leimert Park Village, 4316 Degnan Blvd., Los Angeles.

The free event will feature vendors selling New Orleans-style food, arts and craft, as well as fun activities for the children.

The event will also feature the best of New Orleans music including a special tribute by “Uptown New Orleans” honoring the “Neville Brothers.”

“New Orleans should be recognized, at least according to me, as the heart and soul of America for its food, music and culture,” host Torrence Brannon-Reese said.

People can also listen to testimonies from New Orleans residents about their city after hurricane Katrina as well as how the BP oil spill is affecting their lives.
