Two generations of the Owens family have matriculated through the halls of Dorsey High School, and last Saturday much of clan was back at the “D-House” to give back through the one-day Christopher Owens Youth Football Camp. Nearly half of the 20 to 25 volunteers who helped put on the camp for the varsity and junior varsity Dorsey football team were family members.

The program combined a morning of hygiene and academic information with an afternoon of up-close-and personal coaching from NFL players–Owens of the Atlanta Falcons; Stefon Johnson of the Tennessee Titans, and also a Dorsey star; James Jones of the Green Bay Packers as well as Owens’ teammate at San  Jose; and Jarron Gilbert of the Chicago Bears, also at San Jose.
