Legendary Wes Montgomery

These photos were taken at the Catalina Bar and Grill Jazz Club in Hollywood, where a special tribute to the legendary Wes Montgomery took place featuring 16-year old City Honors High School junior, Giavanna (above center), perfrming on guitar with a all-star linedup of jazz legends. They included Rich Olsen (Herbie Hancock’s band), Quentin Dennard (Miles Davis band) (above on drums); Michael Saucier (Ray Charles Orchestra) (above on guitar). Other attendees included Grammy-winning producer Bobby Martin, blues legend Linda Hopkins, Motown executive Miller London, and Universal Records’, Leo Rodgers. Giavanna was supported by Hopkins, her principal and others from City Honors High in the photo inset.
