The First Greater Los Angeles Neighborhood Stabilization Council (FGLANSC) is hosting a foreclosure stabilization summit called “Operation Nextstep” on March 27th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Los Angeles Convention Center in West Hall, Meeting Room 408AB.
FGLANSC is a non-profit organization involved in addressing issues that threaten to destabilize the social order of neighborhoods and harm its citizens.
The goal of Operation Nextstep is to get different county and state agencies together to help homeowners, who have become victims of foreclosure rescue scams. The intent is to potentially help them obtain compensation.
There is money in the offices of the State Bar of California and the Attorney General set aside for exactly this type of situation, said Osar Bey, the director of Operation Nextstep.
“Our hope is to help as many eligible people receive aid as possible, but the problem is getting the word out to the victims that financial compensation is available.”
Those who want to find out about this compensation at the summit, should start by completing a Compensation Information questionnaire online at www.operationnextstep.com.
Participants are also urged to make copies ahead of time of all documentation pertaining to your foreclosure loan modification and rescue efforts such as canceled checks or receipts and bring them to the summit.
The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact (213) 281-7665.
