Los Angeles, CA — The family of Channa Kingcade are distraught over the disappearance of the 41-year old woman who has been missing for over two weeks. Her family is asking for the public’s help in locating the mother, who has a 14-year-old daughter.

According to family members, Kingcade was last seen on April 1, 2009 at around 1:30 p.m. at Century Boulevard and Beach Street in Los Angeles. Kingcade is described as a Black woman with black hair and brown eyes. She is 5 ft. 11 inches tall and weighs 140 pounds. She was last seen wearing a cream colored sweatshirt and pants and a black cap.  She has a tattoo that says #1 Mom.
Family members told police that it is completely out of character for Kingcade to be missing for two weeks without notifying her family.

Detective Carmine Sasso, officer in charge of the LAPD Adult Missing Persons Unit, said that investigators are still looking for more clues in the case.  “We need to talk to a few more people who knew Ms. Kingcade.  The investigation is continuing.”

Family members and LAPD are asking the public to contact the LAPD’s Missing Person’s Unit or call Detective Kristin Merrill at (213)-485-5381 if anyone has information regarding Kingcade’s whereabouts. After hours or on weekends, calls may be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7.
