Two charged in Ladera ATM killing

Mylus Mondy , 48, was killed March 9 at a Bank of America ATM machine in the 6600 block of La Cienega Boulevard (Westway) in the Ladera Heights Shopping Cener.

Mondy, an off-duty U.S. Customs and Border Protection employee, reportedly walked up to the ATM while a robbery was in progress. He was struck on the head, demanded to turn over his money, and shot when he tried to run away.

Enjoli Elan McClendon, 22, and McKenzie Carl Bryant, 23, are charged with the murder of Mondy including special circumstance allegations that the victim was killed during a robbery. The couple is also charged with two counts, each of first-degree ATM robbery, with one of the counts involving another victim the same day. They are being held without bail. Arraignment will be on April 2.
