Greenlining Institute supports Rep. Waters proposed foreclosure legislation

Greenlining Institute, a multi-ethnic public policy and advocacy center focusing on the foreclosure crisis, strongly supports Congresswoman Maxine Water’s proposed foreclosure legislation. Waters’ legislation would not allow financial institutions to foreclose a property without doing all that they could to help the borrower remain in their home. The legislation would also require financial institutions to report all of their loss mitigation efforts. The Greenling Institure has sent a letter addressed to the key congressional committee, supporting Water’s visionary leadership in addressing the foreclosure crisis that is tearing up inner cities nationwide.
