Los Angeles, CA. — Police are seeking two gunmen who are responsible for the shootings of a child in South Los Angeles.

A 7-year-old girl was shot and wounded around 7:20 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of West 47th Street while the girl was inside her home with her grandmother and grandfather.

According to police reports, a white minivan with paper plates pulled up in front of the home and a gunman wearing a white hoodie got out of the passenger side and fired several shots inside the residence.  The bullets struck the child in the arm and the chest, said Officer Jason Lee of LAPD’s Media Relations section.

The girl was rushed to a local hospital in serious but stable condition.

The suspects are described as two Hispanics. The police believe the shooting was gang-related.

Detectives are seeking witnesses who may have heard the gunshots.

Anyone with information on the shooting are urged to call the LAPD’s Newton station detectives at (323) 846-6572.
