Brookins AME hosts Judge Ephriam

Los Angeles, CA – The “Back to Old Landmark” Concert will be held Sunday, Feb. 8, at 4 p.m. at Brookins Community A.M.E. Church, 4831 South Gramercy Pl., announced Rev. Joseph C. Nixon, senior pastor.

“We are honored to host this renown concert sponsored by Dr. Rodena Preston and the Los Angeles Chapter of the Gospel Music Workshop of America.  Some of the greatest talents in the city will perform and we invite the public to come and enjoy this God-praising program,” said Rev. Nixon.

According to Dr. Preston, the concert will also honor gospel legends Kenneth Glover, Rev. Shirley Corley-LaCour, Mel Carter, Jewell Reed, Professor Frank Williams, and Walt Baby Love.

Also, on Saturday, Feb. 7, at 11 a.m., Judge Mablean Ephriam will be the guest speaker at the Mesereau-Ephriam-Villaraigosa (MEV) Free Legal Clinic, added Rev. Nixon.   The clinic is located in the Brookins Community Development Center, 1900 West 48th Street in Los Angeles.

“Judge Ephriam will discuss custodial rights for fathers and any man seeking more time with his children should plan to attend this free session,” said Rev. Nixon.

The MEV Free Legal Clinic, named for Attorney Tom Mesereau, Judge Mablean Ephriam, and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing quality legal services in South Los Angeles.
