Los Angeles, CA – During his second week as head of the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD), Superintendent Ray Cortines made public a set of priorities and initiatives.
The five strategies include: achieving consistently high quality levels of teaching and learning for all students; streamlining the District; providing safe and modern schools; increasing accountability and transparency.
We will also hold ourselves accountable to meeting milestones and delivering results, Cortines said, adding that the State financial crisis will also shape priorities as the District manages more than $250 million in budget cuts for the 2008-2009 school year.
The LAUSD plan is available on the Districts web site, www.lausd.net
