A man who was under the influence of drugs was taken into custody on Wednesday after he stabbed his girlfriend in a fit of rage.
Officers said he also wounded three men at random.
The assailant’s name had not been released as of press time.
The first attack occurred at 9 p.m. Tuesday when a man in his early 30s entered through the screen door of an apartment on East Spruce Avenue near South La Brea Avenue and began fighting with a man inside the residence, according to Lt. Steve Overly of the Inglewood Police Department..
In a state of rage, the suspect stabbed the man in the neck and then left the apartment.
Moments later, authorities said the assailant stabbed two more men in the front yard of an apartment building near East Hillcrest Boulevard and La Brea Avenue.
One victim suffered a stab wound to the neck, and the other was stabbed twice, once near his left clavicle and once in his right rib cage.
The suspect was arrested less than a minute later in an alley near the corner of Hillcrest Boulevard and South Grevillea Avenue.
The three victims were hospitalized following the stabbings. All were listed in stable condition.
“He was heavily under the influence of drugs and was enraged,” Overly said, adding that he was apparently looking for his girlfriend.
The assailant did not know the victims, and the victims told police they did not know him.
