No blacks seated on O. J. Simpson jury

Former football great O. J. Simpson, who is being held in Las Vegas on armed robbery and kidnapping charges, may be facing the trial of his life when it was revealed that no African Americans were selected for the jury.
The jury, which was selected last week, is composed of nine women and three men. Simpson lawyers complained of bias, charging that blacks were “systematically” excluded after prosecutors removed the only black person who was in contention to be on the jury.
Legal experts believe that an all white jury greatly increases the likelihood that the 61-year-old Simpson will be convicted for allegedly robbing two sports memorabilia dealers last year of items which he claimed belonged to him.
