Angel City Classic welcomes Angie Stone

Move over Morehouse and Prairie View A&M University. The newest addition to the Farmers Insurance Group Angel City Classic 5th Quarter Concert saluting Isaac Hayes is the incomparable Stax recording artist, Angie Stone. With concert producer extraordinaire Marc Brogdon of N2U Creative Marketing Group helming the event, Stone will be joined by other top A-List talent that are still under wraps.
Stone is a universally respected R&B, and neo-soul singer-songwriter, keyboardist, and record producer. The talented performer who has also appeared in several film roles was nominated for the 2008 Grammy Award for Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals for her duet with Betty Wright from the hit single “Baby.”
The Angel City Classic, to be nationally televised on Fox Sports Net, will feature a McDonald’s Battle of The Bands, Greek tailgate parties, Snoop Dogg’s youth football playoff, a Band Clinic, as well as a King & Queen Competition for High School Seniors who will be given a $5,000 scholarship. Local radio personality Cliff Winston is on tap to do the play-by-play, with a host of grass roots organizers, church leaders and elected officials all working together to promote education at Historically Black Colleges and Universities for minorities living in Southern California.
Actor/producer Nick Cannon, along with his “Stop Hating” campaign, will serve as the ambassador of the event. Joining him will be former “My Wife and Kids” star Jennifer Freeman, who will be conducting VIP and celebrity red carpet interviews.
