A Daytona Beach, Fla. man has been charged with two felony hate crimes after investigators said he ran down a woman because she was black.
Thomas Cosby was arrested after the crash on July 14 that left Nekedia Cato, 25, hospitalized with a broken leg and internal injuries.
Cato was riding her bike on the sidewalk along a road when prosecutors said Cosby veered off the road and onto the sidewalk.
According to witnesses, Cosby was heard ranting about trying to kill black people.
Cosby was charged with aggravated battery and battery, both qualifying as hate crimes.
