Supervisor Yvonne B. Burke announced that she will be joining the newly established six-member Office of Congressional Ethics within the U.S. House of Representatives upon her retirement at the end of the year. She will then participate in the Ethics office as a private citizen.
Burke was approached by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi about one month ago. The six members and two alternates are evenly represented by both Republicans and Democrats. Pelosi and Minority Leader John Boehner each had the right to veto the other’s appointments.
