A 15-year-old boy shot in the head nearly a week ago in the 1600 block of West 65th Place died Wednesday and his alleged shooter is in custody in lieu of $1 million bail, according to police.
Alcus Mallory was visiting a friend and was in a bedroom with friends playing video games at 9 p.m. on July 17.
Mallory was in the company of Elijah Larkin, 18. “The suspect…pulled out a handgun and began to play with it,” police said in a statement. “He (Larkin) fired one shot and struck Mallory in the head.”
Larkin was arrested the day after the shooting and booked on suspicion of involuntary manslaughter, said LAPD Officer Julianne Sohn of the Media Relations Office.
