Los Angeles residents Rico Lashwan Todd, 49, and Terrance Marzette Todd, 37, were killed Friday when a black jaguar, allegedly driven on the wrong side of South La Brea Avenue by German Maximo, 22, collided with the gray Mitsubishi Gallant in which both men inside were passengers. The two victims died at the scene. The crash also triggered a collision involving three other vehicles.
According to witnesses, the five-car wreck at Westhaven Street occurred at about 11:15 p.m. Maximo allegedly was speeding down a side street and swung his vehicle wide into the path of the Mitsubishi, striking it with deadly force. Lt. Cheryl MacWillie said that it was not immediately known if the two slain men were brothers or otherwise related. The Mitsubishi’s driver suffered only minor injuries, but police and firefighters said a third passenger was hospitalized in critical condition. There were no other serious injuries reported.
