Womens symposium scheduled

The Figueroa Church of Christ, 455 W. 57th St., schedules its 20th Annual Ladies’ Symposium, Friday through Sunday, Jan. 25-27. “God’s Women: Redeeming the Time in Evil Days” is the theme.

A special session is planned for girls eight to 18. The highlights of the weekend include events for pre-teens, teens, young adults, adults and seniors. A mother and daughter team from Crenshaw Church of Christ, Wanda Henderson and Theresa, have prepared a special session with “youth” in mind.
On Saturday, lunch will follow the morning session. The afternoon session will feature a mini concert. Four ladies’ singing groups will offer songs of praise and worship.
The United Christian Women’s Chorus, directed by Betty Davis, will mark its 20th Anniversary singing at the concert. The United Children’s Choir, under the direction of Rayvalline L.G. Harrell, will also perform.
Avalon Church of Christ’s Choir, Wanda Moran, director will present several selections, along with the Figueroa Ladies’ Symposium Chorus,uUnder the direction of Thelma Reeves.
Charlotte Murray, Greta King, Shalan Mitchell and Lorie Pickens are in charge of the symposium. Calvin Bowers is the minister. For information, call (323) 753-2536.
