Awards show expected to broadcast on Sept. 18

This week, the nominations for the 75th Emmy® Awards were presented by Emmy Award-nominated actress Yvette Nicole Brown.

This season, the Emmy Awards celebrates its 75th anniversary. What began as a modest ceremony with five awards at the Hollywood Athletic Club has evolved into television’s biggest night, celebrating excellence throughout the industry. In the age of “peak TV” with close to 600 original scripted series, the nominations recognize the importance of the writers, performers and all those who worked on television programs in the past year.

“It’s been another transformational year in this platinum age of television that has delivered a diverse range of extraordinary programming,” said Frank Scherma, chair of the Television Academy. “We are delighted to have Yvette help us celebrate our 75th anniversary as we honor the exceptional shows, innovators, storytellers and talent whose work has entertained and connected us this season.”

Brown earned an Emmy nomination for her work on “The Black Lady Sketch Show” ind is currently starring in “Act Your Age” on Bounce TV. She is best known for her roles on the shows “Community,” “Drake & Josh” and “The Odd Couple.” On the big screen she has appeared in “Avengers: Endgame,” “Repo Man” and “Dreamgirls.” She also wrote, produced and currently stars in “Always a Bridesmaid” streaming on BET+.

The 75th Emmy Awards will be broadcast live Monday, Sept. 18, from 8 to 11 p.m. on Fox.
