Alleged bank robbers toss money to elude police capture

At least four bank robbery suspects led police on a wild chase through parts of Los Angeles County after allegedly robbing a Bank of America branch in the Santa Clarita area. The fleeing suspects first drove to the Sylmar area, where they let two suspects out of the vehicle, but at least two others continued to lead the police pursuit to South Los Angeles, where they were ultimately captured. In their flight, apparently to elude capture, they tossed money from their dark SUV, causing crowds to gather near Vermont and Vernon avenues.
