LOS ANGELES, Calif.—The Board of Supervisors today cleared the way for a $31 million facelift for the county's Natural History Museum.
The planned work includes a multi-story glass entryway at the north end of the museum, a public plaza and grassy amphitheater and improved access from parking via an elevated walkway.
A $13 million pledge from the Otis Booth Foundation will help the nonprofit museum fund the renovation, which will not be paid for by the county.
Museum officials called the foundation's gift "unprecedented.''
