One thousand three hundred ninety-three Carson customers found themselves in darkness after a power outtage around 10 p.m. on Monday.
A Southern California Edison spokeswoman said the problem was due to equipment failure.
The boundaries of the outtage were Victoria street on the north, Del Amo on the south, Alameda on the east and Central Avenue on the west.
Power was restored in a few homes as early as 30 seconds later, and others as various times through the night, but the majority received power again at 10:36 a.m. on Tuesday.
