EL SEGUNDO, Calif.—Raytheon's El Segundo-based Space and Airborne Systems division was awarded a Boeing contract today for upgrading radar on F-15C fighter aircraft.
Under the contract, U.S. Air Force and Air National Guard planes will get "Active Electronically Scanned Array'' radars, which are meant to enhance performance of the fighters. They are now equipped with mechanically scanned radar.
Delivery of the systems are set to start in the second quarter of 2011, according to Raytheon, which did not disclose terms of the contract.
