With the combined funds of the Edwards Enlisted Spouses Club and the First Sergeants Council, the organizations were able to stuff 175 backpacks with school supplies to give to those in the Edwards community Aug. 5. Spouses and NCOs (non-commissioned officers) alike gathered at chapel to stuff the backpacks from 5-8 p.m. The packs were filled with supplies from this year’s annual school supply drive. The backpacks began to be distributed Aug. 6. Master Sgt. Chris Roach, 412th Security Forces Squadron (left) receives a backpack filled with school supplies from Master Sgt. Richard Garcia, 412th SFS (right). The backpacks were donated to Airmen with school-age children along with youth in the local community.
