ESPN is reporting that an assistant coach at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga has been fired for making racist remarks about Democratic activist Stacey Abrams.

Many are crediting Abrams for turning the state of Georgia blue (Democrat) in both the general election in November and the senatorial runoff last week.

Chris Malone was removed from his position after his tweet, which said: “Congratulations to the state GA and Fat Albert @staceyabrams because you have truly shown America the true works of cheating in an election, again!!!”

Malone wrote, per a Chattanooga Holler screenshot of the post before it was deleted.

He appeared to be referring to a false and racist conspiracy theory pushed by Republicans that Abrams helped Democrats cheat in the 2020 election. Coach Rusty Wright said Malone’s comments were “appalling” and “unacceptable.”
