Lancaster opens new mini-soccer field at El Dorado Park
Partnership with the U.S. Soccer Foundation and Target

The City of Lancaster is making the sport of soccer accessible to all residents with a brand new mini-pitch at El Dorado Park next to El Dorado Elementary School off 5th Street E in Lancaster.
Officials said the new field was recently completed thanks to a partnership between Lancaster, the U.S. Soccer Foundation and Target.

According to researchers, soccer is actually the most popular sport in the world.
The project is part of the U.S. Soccer Foundation’s Safe Places To Play program, which is seeking to transform underutilized areas into state of the art pitchers where community residents can play.
Nationally, Target pledged $6 million to create 100 mini-pitches in communities across the country. The U.S. Soccer Foundation's long-term goal is to install 1,000 mini-pitched by 2026.
El Dorado Park also features a tennis court, softball field, playground, picnic tables and restrooms.
Lancaster’s Parks, Arts, Recreation and Community Services Department helped coordinate city and partner efforts to get the new field ready for visitors.
Officials are asking residents to follow all LA County safety guidelines when visiting the new mini-pitch at El Dorado Park.
