Local businesses are the backbone of Los Angeles County’s economy. As we’ve navigated this pandemic, businesses have had to overcome serious challenges. To assist them during this time, there are resources available to provide extra support. The fourth round of L.A. COVID Fund grants is open to Sept. 4. There are grants between $5,000 and $25,000 available for small businesses, microentrepreneurs,  chambers of commerce, and nonprofits with almost $100 million total. Once you apply, you will remain in the system for future rounds and won’t have to submit another application. For more information on the fund and to apply, head to the L.A. Regional COVID Fund website: https://www.lacovidfund.org/

In an effort to protect employees in their workplaces, BizFed launched their equipLA initiative. Because of generous community donations, they have delivered more than 150,000 pieces of protective equipment across L.A. County including gowns, gloves, hand sanitizer, and masks.

The products go directly to front line workers, which include childcare providers, nurses, restaurant employees, nursing home staff, and homelessness services agencies. You can visit their website at https://equipla.org/ to learn more about this effort or to donate to the cause.

For businesses looking to learn more about succeeding despite the pandemic, I invite you to join me and the Santa Clarita Valley Chamber of Commerce for our COVID Resource Webinar Series. Our goal is to sustain, uplift, and empower local businesses. To register and learn more, visit https://www.scvchamber.com/.

If you’d like more information about grants, services, ways to sustain operations, and guidance for workers, connect with the L.A. County Help Center. We’re here to lend a hand and propel businesses toward success.
