Regional candidate filing opens for Neighborhood Council elections

City Clerk Holly L. Wolcott recently announced the commencement of the 2021 Neighborhood Council Elections Candidate Filing. To implement the candidate filing phase for the upcoming Neighborhood Council Elections, the City Clerk enhanced its online module to ease the filing process for potential candidates.

The Neighborhood Council Elections will be conducted over several months on a rolling regional basis with the Region 5 candidate filing period having begun Nov. 13. Election Regions: 1 through 12 Candidate Filing Dates: Nov. 13 though March 30, 2021.

There are 99 Neighborhood Councils in Los Angeles. Neighborhood Councils are clustered to form 12 election regions.

Each region has its own candidate filing deadline and unique Election Day. Stakeholder requirements to participate in Neighborhood Councils vary per Neighborhood Council.
