Our deputy mayors have now confirmed six cases of COVID-19 in the Antelope Valley. Three of these cases will soon be discharged from the hospital. The unprecedented challenges posed by COVID-19 requires us to consider different ways to continue providing services. This is a time of anxiety and uncertainty, and we seek to help ease concerns by remaining available to the community.
Although many city facilities have closed due to the “Safer at Home” order by the state and county, Lancaster City Hall is open with appropriate measures being taken to protect the health of the community including social distancing, modified access and frequent cleaning and disinfecting according to the CDC’s guidelines. Starting [this week], the City of Lancaster will be providing child care to essential employees working at Antelope Valley Hospital. The hospital administration will define who are essential employees. All others should be home.
The City of Lancaster’s Emergency Operations Center will continue to work at keeping the hard working families of Lancaster informed and prepared.
