Kids sports classes offered in Palmdale

The city of Palmdale is accepting registration for some of its most popular sports classes for children ages 4 to 7 years.

Basketball Hoopsters is a skills class designed to teach youngsters fundamentals of basketball and good sportsmanship. Students learn to dribble, pass, shoot and more. The classes will run on Mondays, March 30 through May 18 from 4 to 4:45 p.m. for ages 4 to 5 years, and from 5 to 5:45 p.m. for ages 6 to 7 at the Palmdale Oasis Park Recreation Center, 3850 E Ave. S, and Marie Kerr Park Recreation Center, 2723 Rancho Vista Blvd. Class fees are discounted to $34 for Palmdale residents, and are $42.50 for non-residents.

Pee Wee Soccer is a fun, non-competitive introduction to this popular sport. Students learn to kick, dribble and pass. Fundamental skills and good sportsmanship are emphasized. Classes take place in a gym, so cleats are not allowed. Pee Wee Soccer will run on Tuesdays, Feb. 4 through March 24 from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. for ages 4 to 7 at the Palmdale Oasis Park Recreation Center, 3850 E Ave. S, and Marie Kerr Park Recreation Center, 2723 Rancho Vista Blvd. Class fees are discounted to $34 for Palmdale residents, and are $42.50 for non-residents.

T-ball All-Stars teaches children the basics of baseball: how to bat, catch, field and run bases. Fundamental skills and good sportsmanship are emphasized.  Classes are held indoors. T-ball All-Stars will run on Wednesdays, Feb. 5 through March 25 from 4:45 to 5:30 p.m. for ages 4 to 7 years at the Palmdale Oasis Park Recreation Center, 3850 E Ave. S, and Marie Kerr Park Recreation Center, 2723 Rancho Vista Blvd. Class fees are discounted to $34 for Palmdale residents, and are $42.50 for non-residents.
