A 15-year-old Lancaster boy was arrested this week for allegedly posting a threatening comment on one of the social media sites used by a local high school.

Authorities received “numerous’’ calls on Monday regarding the comment and initiated an investigation, said Ali Villalobos of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department’s Lancaster Station.

“Deputies were able to identify the subject as a 15-year-old male and arrested him at his residence in Lancaster … about 6 a.m.,’’ Villalobos said.

“While the subject is a student at a school in Lancaster, he is not and has never been a student of the school the threatening comment was directed at,’’ Villalobos said.

The boy, whose name was withheld because of his age, was booked at Eastlake Juvenile Hall on suspicion of felony criminal threats, she said.
