Rise Financial Pathways luncheon on March 27

Rise Financial Pathways will hosts its 20th Annual Power Luncheon on March 27 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Los Angeles Football Club Stadium in Exposition Park.

Under the theme “Surviving and Thriving: The Rise of 40th and Fig,” the event will be hosted by Pat Harvey of KCBS2 News. An invocation will be delivered by Dr. Betty Price, assistant minister with Crenshaw Christian Center, while the keynote speaker will be Natalie Cole, publisher and CEO of Our Weekly newspaper and a recent contestant on the television show “Survivor: David vs. Goliath.”

Lynn Williams, owner of Beyond Salt and Pepper Catering, will receive the 2019 Small Business Award. A silent auction will also be conducted.

Rise Financial Pathways was created to enhance the economic wealth and capacity of the residents and businesses of under-served areas of Los Angeles by delivering quality community development programs and facilitating collaborative efforts among businesses, the community and local government.

During its 26-year history, Rise Financial Pathways has served more than 108,000 under-served residents, has delivered more than $10.8 million in small- and micro-business loans, and has helped to create more than 3400 local jobs.
