Police and relatives of a man, who was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver while bike riding in South Los Angeles, continue to call for anyone with information to come forward.
Joseph Prandoni, 32, was struck about 9 p.m. Feb. 23 at Manchester Avenue and Gramercy Place, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Police released surveillance video from the area, showing the vehicle that struck Prandoni was a gray Nissan Cube.
No description of the driver has been released. Police said, the motorist fled the scene after striking Prandoni.
Detective Ryan Moreno said, the driver of the Nissan was traveling at a “high rate of speed” and struck Prandoni from behind.
At a news conference Friday at the crash scene, Prandoni’s sister Noel urged the motorist to surrender to authorities and “take responsibility for their actions.”
“But I don’t wish anything bad upon them, and I hope that there’s some way that they can actually improve their own lives,” she said.
A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the driver.
