Director John Singleton suffers stroke

Renowned director John Singleton is in the hospital after suffering what doctors have called a “mild stroke.” According to news sources, the acclaimed director of “Boyz N the Hood” checked himself into the hospital after experiencing pain in his leg. “John is currently in the ICU and under great medical care,” a family statement revealed. “We ask that privacy be given to him and our family at this time and appreciate prayers that have been pouring in from his fans, friends and colleagues.” Since “Boyz N the Hood,” Singleton has been active in television. He directed and executive produced the series “Snowfall” and actually earned an Emmy nod for directing an episode of “The People vs. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story.” His story also includes directing “2 Fast 2 Furious,” “Shaft,” “Four Brothers” and the documentary “L.A. Burning” The Riots 25 Years Later.”
